Expedition mode
Expeditions unlock at level 20. Four players share one payload and a team cap of 14 units.
The Expeditions page sets the unlock at level 20. Up to four players join. Each person has one placement cap, and the squad shares 14 units. That 14 is the shared cap, not 14 per player.
The payload starts at 1,000 HP. If it hits 0, the run fails. Units stand on the payload. It gains XP from kills in the assault phase, and those levels buy upgrades. Node types are Defense, Checkpoint, Assault, Elite, Boss and Encounter. With two or more players only the leader can edit the route on the expedition map.
Reward pools by map: School Grounds pays Cursed Timber, Expedition Coin, Fuel Cell, Equipment Scrap, Equipment Reroll and Equipment Lock. Flower Forest pays Lush Dirt. Rose Kingdom pays Aqua Shard. East Town pays Mechanical Scrap. Three difficulties exist. I do not turn those pools into a per-node guarantee.
The hub buildings named on the page are Expedition Center, Research Lab, Armory, Gold Mine, Training Grounds, Resource Drill, Shop and Quest Board. Armory level 1 is reroll, level 2 is forge, level 3 is scrap. Training Grounds can sit for up to 24 hours of worthiness and EXP. Encounter nodes are where The Drink's 5 percent special meeting is described. A boss node is one step on the Prodigy quest. Faster runs, in my reading, come from the route, the main damage unit and payload levels. There is no official speed table.
Questions
What do expeditions give?
Map reward pools: timber and coins on School Grounds, lush dirt in Flower Forest, aqua shards in Rose Kingdom, mechanical scrap in East Town, plus the hub crafts those materials feed.
