How to choose a unit for your team
Start with the role you need. DPS supplies core damage; Utility covers specialized jobs; Support improves other units; Crowd-Control buys time by changing enemy speed or position. A top support and a top damage dealer solve different problems. For Story, Raids, Expeditions, Boss Rush and Infinite, see the practical role combinations on best teams by mode. Unit details explain obtain routes and forms; the unit directory can be filtered by rarity.
Historical tiers: Update 2, 31 August 2026
Beebom’s Update 2 list uses letter tiers instead of role positions. Its SS group includes Sovereign (Djinn), Prodigy (Rage), Dark Mage (Sovereign), Shadow (Divine), Bioinsect (Final Form) and 8th Sword (Berserk). This older snapshot is useful for reading older guides; it is kept separate from the November wiki order.

Source dates and disagreements
The wiki footer says 15 August 2026 even though the live ranking includes later forms such as Reaper (Frenzied). November 2026 is our retrieval date, not a claimed balance-patch date. Eurogamer’s 13 August Update 1.0 list puts Prodigy (Rage) and 8th Sword (Berserk) in S, while Beebom’s later Update 2 list calls them SS. Those scales and dates remain separate; neither independently confirms the November order.
