Story: an accessible progression path

Start with the useful units you own. Eurogamer’s 13 August Update 1.0 guide and Beebom’s 31 August Update 2 guide both describe Dark Mage as a damage dealer with freeze and Puppet as a damage/control option. Prodigy supplies another damage option. Those two independent guides support the roles; the three-unit combination above is our recommendation. Ramen Guy is an optional economy slot in Beebom’s older list (1 source), and Cubert or a compatible buffer can fill a support need.

Raids: plan around the encounter

Use the current role table to distinguish a damage pick from a support pick. Its November snapshot places 8th Sword in DPS, Cubert in Support and Puppet in Crowd-Control. Keep upgrade spending focused on the units doing damage instead of spreading it evenly across every slot. The roster is a starting point; a raid’s objectives, resistances and available forms determine useful substitutions.

Expeditions: coordinate the shared payload

The wiki documents a level-20 unlock, up to four players and a shared maximum of 14 placed units, with one placement per unit. These constraints have 1 publisher source. Coordinate who brings a carry, who adds support and who covers control before duplicating roles. Iron Wolf and 8th Sword appear in the current wiki DPS category, Cubert and Silver Falcon in Support, and Puppet in Crowd-Control. For nodes and payload decisions, read the Expedition guide.

Boss Rush: distinguish damage from utility

8th Sword and Reaper (Frenzied) are damage options in the current wiki ranking; Cubert supplies a support option and Puppet supplies control. Reaper (Frenzied) is absent from the August lists, so those earlier guides cannot corroborate its November position. Read the Boss Rush guide for the documented gate sequence and rewards before allocating the remaining slots.

Infinite: scale a coherent team

The wiki says competitive usage in Infinite, Infinite Tower and tournaments heavily influences its role rankings. Its damage, support and control categories therefore provide a useful starting point for longer runs. Silver Falcon is a support choice on that snapshot; Iron Wolf and Reaper are damage choices. Choose compatible buffs and effects from the linked unit pages. Tournament reward units such as Toy Maker are optional alternatives when owned.

Questions

What is the best Anime Expeditions team?

A useful starting core has a damage dealer, support and crowd control. The table gives examples for each mode and links their roles; there is no sourced benchmark establishing a single winning roster for all modes.

How many units can a party place in Expeditions?

The wiki documents a shared cap of 14 placed units for a party of up to four players, with one placement per unit. This is a single-publisher mode rule.

Do the August tier guides confirm Reaper (Frenzied)?

They do not include that later form. Its role and position on this page come from the wiki snapshot retrieved 3 November 2026.
