Five spots, a timing minigame, and Sand Dollars. The wiki does not describe an AFK fishing mode.
Fishing arrived in update 2.0. The Fishing page names five spots: Lobby, School Grounds, Flower Forest, East Town and Coral Kingdom. East Town is the spot people ask for by name. Coral Kingdom's unlock is not on that page, so I leave it blank.
Equip a rod, stand at the water marker, start the cast, wait for a bite, then keep the control bar on the fish icon so the white bar does not empty. Sell the catch for Sand Dollars. The page lists five rods and 18 fish. Value follows type, weight and quality. I do not rank a best rod because no odds table is printed.
Fishing rank milestones run 1 to 25. The early bands on the page include 250 Sand Dollars, 15 Equipment Rerolls, 5 trait crystals and 250 gems, and rank 25 awards the Flamingo emote. During Tidal Siege the same spots can produce one-use tomes, units and equipment. Sharktooth Conch is the Sharkfang door: fish it up, then activate it. See Sharkfang.
Official idle tools are battle autoplay and the AFK Chamber. Fishing still asks for the minigame input. A third-party macro that plays the minigame is outside the game's own tools and sits under Roblox's automation rules. This page does not host one.

East Town is one of the five spots named on the wiki Fishing page.
Can you AFK fish without a macro?
The wiki does not list an AFK fishing mode. The minigame wants input. Battle AFK is a different system.
